Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Many different tasks from creating and analysing tests to working across multiple teams. Communicating with product managers to identify areas of improvement in the company and how we can achieve this.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Working with my manger and other members of the team allowed me to understand what the role requires and pick up on any of the technical skills required. My manager gave me multiple opportunities to work and showcase some of the skills required and handed my responsibilities of carrying out analysis by myself. This was extremely useful in my career growth.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes many new skills ranging from soft skills to technical skills. Being able to communicate and collaborate across different teams and time zones was extremely important as the company is world wide. Technical skills including python and SQL help analyse the data gathered.

Throughout the whole internship, there was a lot of support and guidance available at any point. The team was extremely caring and helpful as well as providing extra resources to help navigate any problems faced throughout the summer.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
In general, the company was amazing to work at. Everyone in the office was very welcoming and happy to help at any opportunity which created a great atmosphere. Everyone communicated with each other and made sure everyone was involved, including the interns.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I extremely enjoyed my time at Expedia. From learning how to operate and work successfully in a large company with challenging demands to meeting like minded individuals who strived to innovate and improve, everyday was extremely enjoyable.

What advice would you give to others applying to Expedia Group
My main advice would be to make sure you do research on the company and try to develop some of the technical skills that your specific role may require. This will help when starting your internship and can help manage the workload throughout.
