Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I would look at different properties in portfolion and help my team understand why and if they should be ocntacted. I also shadowed the team and created confluence pages to help the team better their understanding of how to better current procedures.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I think I was not given as much responsibility as I wanted in terms of having a bigger role in my project or having a project that was on par with my fellow interns in terms of intellectual stimulation and development in my team's success.

I have developed my Excel skills and PowerPoint skills. I have learned how to use Confluence and Salesforce (CRM).

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
I really enjoyed the company culture in terms of having a very good and supportive learning environment. On the other hand, I believe that interns should have a better platform to voice their opinions in terms of how to improve current procedures and also should be more supported through this process. Innovation should be encouraged in all departments, no matter the nature of it.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my internship. I believe that Expedia is a great environment for young people to learn and be in a great work environment. I believe that this can be bettered through supporting interns if they have their own initiatives but also encouraging interns to innovate as much as possible. One area I would like to see improve is transparency in terms of showing interns where they are doing well and where they can improve.

What advice would you give to others applying to Expedia Group
I would tell other people to enjoy their time at Expedia. I would also tell them not to be shy to bother people in terms of asking for help and shadowing. Finally, I would tell them not to be shy about following their own ideas, even if you don't get the most positive feedback at first.
