Social Content Placement Student Review

I was responsible for running Gymshark’s Facebook Page, Running their women’s TikTok for 6 months, community management on Gymshark Lifting’s Instagram and assisting/taking the lead on brand campaigns. I was also creating content on an ad-hoc basis across Gymshark’s other social channels, these most frequently being Instagram stories

I was given significant responsibility, taking the lead on campaigns that involved creating content for Gymshark’s 7 million+ on their Instagram. I was frequently creating story sets/other assets with my own creative freedom for their different accounts and during the summer sale created the majority of their commercial driving story sets. I was also running their Facebook page myself, and ran their women’s TikTok account for 6 months.

I have developed my content creation skills and gained a lot of insight into campaign planning and execution. Alongside this I developed community management skills and nurtured my professional soft skills

I received quite a lot of guidance/support during my placement, during weekly meetings with my manager. There were also workshops for placement students such as assertiveness training and public speaking training.

Great company culture of people wanting to help each other out to get the work done. Having the Lifting Club Gym is great too as we often train with our colleagues after work. There’s a positive atmosphere at Gymshark, people work hard and it is quite fast paced, but if you enjoy that you’ll thrive!

I really enjoyed my placement. I learnt a great deal and was given genuine responsibility. Although this was challenging at times, it was great to have had this experience and the learning opportunities that came with it that I believe have made me grow both professionally and personally. The culture is great and I made some really great friends that I will keep in touch with.
