Design & Artwork Student Placement Review

Working within the Design & Artwork team to artwork BAU and campaign assets for marketing channels across the business. Assisting on designing campaigns for the business as well as internal projects. Visibility across a range of projects through meetings.

I was never treated as a student placement and always felt like a trusted employee which I loved. I thrived on the responsibility of working on major campaigns, being allowed to lead on big projects like major sales and feeling confident to voice my opinion.

I have learned countless new software skills and design principles as well as invaluable professionalism and communication skills. This placement has massively improved my confidence, my knowledge and my ability to act on my own initiative. I have always felt trusted with massive responsibility and developed my skills more than I could express.

My manager was always on hand for whatever I needed and I worked in such a supportive team where I always felt I could ask questions, learn from my colleagues and get their advice on any issues I ran into.

I loved the company culture at Gymshark where ambition is encouraged and I was given every opportunity to stretch and challenge myself. I also really appreciated the way I was treated as a student placement, I never felt like my opinion was less valid because of my lack of experience. The relaxed and casual nature of the office made me feel at ease.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and it really helped me focus in on what I want my career to look like. I loved the people I worked with, the work I was doing and the responsibility I was given. I would massively recommend to anyone considering it, it is one of the best experiences I have ever had.
