Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Supporting the business in managing Bids. This involves using the dedicated SAP software to process bids which vendors or other departments have sent to us. A key aspect of this is applying the correct discounts to the bid, and double checking other teammates' bids before approving them.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I have been given responsibility in combing through large datasets to find inconsistencies and to report them as necessary. I have a coming responsibility which will require me to work with another department.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have had hands-on experience on SAP for the first time, with growing expertise as time goes on. Further, my skills in Excel have expanded as I have been creating spreadsheets and conducting data analysis, in addition to voluntarily utilizing the available training courses to expand knowledge. Another skill I've developed is communication with other team members in a corporate environment which has aided me in working effectively and efficiently.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My trainer has been very helpful, as well as my peers. They have helped me whenever I require it, and I am becoming self-sufficient as time goes on. My manager has also been really helpful and has been setting projects and goals for me to achieve, helping fuel my career development.
