Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked within the company's EMEA Finance Shared Service Centre. Responsibilities included standard journal preparation and posting, intercompany transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls testing, budgeting, cash management and other ad-hoc tasks. My time was split between tasks which were general accounting, cash management or intercompany oriented.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, from the outset the Financial Reporting team gave me significant responsibility and my responsibilities continued to expand over the course of the year.

- Excellent time-management skills
- Much greater understanding of MS Excel
- Competency with several different ERP systems
- Confidence in communicating with a variety of internal finance / non-finance stakeholders
