Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
- Supporting the internal communications team with executing planned employee engagements events and initiates
- Day to day activities include writing and management of the International intranet, media analysis and research and project management
- Have the opportunity to work closely with members of the communications team in Boston
- Be an integral part of a dynamic International team

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
My manger we on medical leave for 2 weeks during a busy period at work, I stepped up and worked closer with her manager (Senior Director for Communications) to be on-hand for very projects, one main one being the Q2 Town Hall and creating slides for the SVP and Head of International Commercial, GIACO and Global Marketing.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had a great amount of support not only from my manager and the International comms team but also the global comms team and colleagues outside of comms as well. Additionally, we had a lot of support from Brendan Bacon, the Talent Acquisition Manager

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company has a very unique culture and one my own goals align with very well. I felt comfortable enough to speak up if I needed to and I felt very safe and secure in my work environment.

The fast-paced environment may seem daunting/overwhelming at first but don't let this stop you from raising your hand - no question is stupid. There are so many people who are willing to support you and I strongly encourage you to take every opportunity that comes your way as this is the best way to learn and navigate new challenges.
