Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working as an intern in the insights team. My day to day has involved supporting research projects and helping to run an online research community. A portion of time is also spent working with other interns to complete a group project.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I had a fair bit of responsibility given to me during my time but found that this started small and increased as time went on and I gained more knowledge about the business and gained more confidence in my skills/abilities.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have both learnt new skills and developed existing ones. Throughout my internship, training has been organised by early careers to help develop skills such as Excel. Additionally, I have learnt practical working skills and developed research and critical thinking skills within my team.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I have received a lot of support and guidance throughout my internship. Early careers have been supportive of my development and my manager and my team have supported my learning and growth. Additionally, I have always felt there was someone I could turn to for guidance.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture has been friendly and supportive - I have been able to talk to people of all levels in the business, from other interns and grads to the executives, and have received the same levels of attention and interest no matter who I have spoken to. They have lots of opportunities for their employees and are more relaxed than the typical financial service provider.
