Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I work at as an intern in the Valuations Team, where we mainly determine the fair value of companies and transactions for commercial, tax, and accounting purposes. Every day is different, working on projects, building models, training, meetings, and resarch.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was put on actual tasks and interacted with clients. I also performed research projects and reported straight to the partner, so I felt like I was given a lot of responsibility and exposure.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, learnt a lot about how to value companies, dissecting and understanding businesses. I also learnt a lot about accounting. Most of the work was on Excel.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
A lot. The team were extremely helpful and always helped whenever I was stuck. There were also weekly training sessions and catch ups with the team, to ensure I was okay.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is healthy and supportive, with a much more relaxed and friendly atmosphere than I expected. It made me feel very welcome.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement, as I felt as if I was a real member of the team, being able to produce useful work. The team in Valuations is fantastic (best at Evelyn If I have to say), and learnt a lot.
