Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Occasional meetings and tours of facilities. Majority of time spent on circuit schematic design, PCB layout, routing and soldering as well as testing component suitability in labs. Responsible for producing project outcome by the end of the placement.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

The majority of responsibility was with the completion of tasks that were assigned to me. There was not much more responsibility past that.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Developed my skills in PCB design, layout and routing. Only had very little previous experience in this prior to the placement and only with very simple designs and boards. Have now spent far more time working with complicated designs to give me much more confidence in this area.

Received a lot of support or guidance. If at any point I was stuck or needed help with any aspect of the project there was someone available to guide me.
