Finance Intern Review

On a day to day basis, I occasionally shadow multiple teams within the finance department such as the cash analyst team or treasury, learning and drawing on their experience of their roles and what is needed to be successful in their field. I carry out monthly invoices, line allocation and reconciliations linked to all of our properties. I also carry out credit checks on our customer accounts and liaise with our debt collection agency.

I was occupied with a lot of tasks and projects for the duration of my internship, which was beneficial as it emulated real life situations and problems that allowed me to understand what it is really like to work within in a corporate environment.

- I've become more proficient with excel, learnt useful shortcut and formulas that can be applied to multiple financial scenarios.

I was pretty much supported and guided for the duration of internship, i had weekly 1-1 reviews with my line manager where we discussed progress, things I was comfortable and uncomfortable and any opportunity of growth that might have piqued my interest.

My Internship was extremely insightful and if I ever got the chance to do a placement year or a full time position at Unite Student, I would gladly accept it without thinking twice.
