The Gibson Dunn Vacation Scheme offers rotations across various departments, providing exposure to different legal areas. Students engage in research, drafting, and team briefings. Mentorship from trainees and associates offers valuable guidance and feedback. The scheme includes insightful ‘coffee conversations,’ sessions on legal topics, and a variety of social events, offering a comprehensive insight into the firm's work and culture.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Learning about the business and roles at Gibson Dunn was enlightening. I gained a clear understanding of the firm's diverse practice areas and the specific responsibilities within each role, particularly through hands-on experience and direct interactions with the lawyers at various levels.

During my time at the Gibson Dunn Vacation Scheme, I significantly developed my research skills while working with the disputes team. I was tasked with conducting in-depth legal research on complex case laws and regulatory issues. This involved analysing legal precedents, identifying relevant statutes, and synthesising findings into concise research memos. The mentorship and feedback from experienced associates honed my ability to efficiently gather and interpret legal information, enhancing both my analytical and practical research capabilities.
