Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Completing a Vacation Scheme at Gibson Dunn was a great experience. Students are sat in two seats across the two weeks that are allocated to you. I found this great as one of the seats I ended up in was not one I would have chosen for myself and I really enjoyed the insight. 3 weeks, alot longer than at other firms, really gives you the chance to see the firm and know whether it is the right fit for you. We completed a range of work whilst there. Naturally, there were some assessed tasks but the majority of the work you do is for your supervisor. Everyone at the firm was super welcoming and happy to chat about their experiences. Another bonus was that GDC's food options were on form - vac schemers could have free lunch and snacks at the cafeteria, there was always great food on offer for events!
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
There was only one role available, so this was fairly limited. It was interesting to see the different departments the firm offered.

Definitely enjoyed it - everyone on my cohort was fun to get along with and the lawyers always had time for the students!
