Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
First two weeks were mostly department talks and socials, the last three weeks is more empty so you could seek out work or be exposed more to your department.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Flat hierarchy in the firm so you can talk to anyone you wish. Also with the 'one firm' policy approach, you can work with lawyers from other offices and interact with them.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very friendly, everyone is approachable and welcoming. A quick floor introduction will confirm their laidback yet hardworking culture asap. The people really went an extra mile to acknowledge and talk to the vacation schemers.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
To a large extent. I made good friends with other vacation schemers which goes to show GD's quality check in picking people and how they foster a team environment. The talks were insightful and the work they give are not mimic or fake, but rather real work helping the lawyers from trainees to partners.

Apply early. Be impressionable as they value personality. For the interview, have your own opinion, think critically but stand your ground. Grad rec gives you a helpful briefing sheet before the interviews, the process is very straightforward and transparent as they want you to succeed.
