Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Between events and talks about the firm and the role, we were delegated a myriad of varying tasks in order to simulate a week in the life of a Trainee at the firm.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Many of the talks early in the scheme focussed on the business' structure, people and offerings. This afforded me a an excellent background of the firm delivered by its passionate staff.
The major understanding of the business came from being placed directly within a team and experiencing daily life amongst people of all levels.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
The scheme has allowed me to hone in on my time management skills through having to balance the various deadlines of tasks amidst events with Clients or other members of the firm. I was also afforded opportunities to help me develop my skills in networking with others, something that I had not yet experienced in a professional setting.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The general atmosphere was very welcoming. It is common for people to have a preconception about Commercial Law Firms, but for myself any apprehension or negativity was dispelled immediately by the attitude of the people that I engaged with. Furthermore, the firm's boasting of Team Spirit was well-justified, as I was fortunate enough to view first hand the team-based culture and lack of hierarchy imposed upon more junior staff.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole week, even while facing pressure when completing tasks before a given deadline. I would encourage anyone broadly interested in the sector to apply and can assure you that the firm will sell itself.
