Internal Communications Industrial Placement Review

I work with a range of teams from around the business as well as external agencies on a daily basis to plan projects. These projects are often intiatives to engage colleagues and can be short term or can span several months to a year or more. I'm always given lots of responsibility and have been involved with some really exciting campaigns and events.

I've been given more responsibility than I would have ever expected as a placement student. I'm able to fully own my projects and be responsible for making decisions and managing campaigns from start to end. I always feel that my team and Managers trust me to do a great job.

The role has massively increased my confidence and I've also developed strong communication and teamwork skills. I've learnt a lot about the business and managing several projects at once has improved my organisation and time management skills also.

I had a detailed 8 week training plan which allowed me to learn about all areas of the business as well as the team I would be working within. By the end of the plan I was taking on my own work although I always felt comfortable to ask questions and felt extremely welcomed into the team.

Aldi is a fast paced environment meaning all teams are used to working flexibly and being adaptable. Every colleague is given lots of responsibility and everyone feels that the work they are doing is important and makes a difference.

I have really enjoyed my placement as I've been exposed to lots of new opportunities and have learnt so much. The skills and experiences I've gained will be extremely useful when looking for future roles.
