Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day to day work will be similar to any other software engineering role. You will spend time writing software, running tests and handling documentation. There is also time set aside to learn new languages and develop skills. Your manager may also give you time to complete any Uni assignments which is very helpful.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes as far as I'm aware every placement within MBDA will have you completing real, meaningful work.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I gained a vast knowledge in several languages one of which I had never used before.
I became much more competent using software engineering tools like Git, Jenkins, Jira and I have a much better understanding of the software process now.
I've also massively improved lots of generic skills like communication, presenting and my confidence in my own abilities.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Generally I feel like the culture is very good.
Work from home and dynamic working is encouraged from the top down.
There are lots of great initiatives raising awareness and inclusion.
Everyone I've interacted with has been kind, welcoming and willing to help.
