Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Coordinating with the client to gather, review and evaluate documents around a specific topic / area. We then identify areas of improvement and raise recommendations as such.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was almost 'thrown in the deep end' and was placed to observe client calls within my first week! From there the organisation and team around me pushed me constantly out of my comfort zone to ensure I developed which I have done. Having said that, at no point did I feel majorly overwhelmed and think that the tasks handed to me were significantly beyond my capabilities.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt how to act in a professional environment and also how to lead meetings. This is a skill in itself as you have to come across as professional but also engaging and warm to the client. Also, my general communication, analytical and time management skills have improved with the level of work that is required in this role.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received ample amounts of support and guidance, everyone in the team was very welcoming and open to me asking simple questions upon first joining. Then from a management point of view, I completed the specific training required to give me some background as to how the company runs internally. My Line Manager and 'buddy' specifically scheduled weekly 1-1s with me in order to dedicate time to helping with my concerns or queries.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
My team have been amazing since I have joined, we often organise drinks every 2 months or so to catch up informally. Also living in the south west close to a couple of colleagues we meet up and work from a coffee shop to socialise productively! This has definitely helped my placement journey and I am very thankful to my team!

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement journey, I have met some lovely people both internally and externally and it has given me a real eye opener into the working world as this has been my first professional job.
