Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I work on the overseeing on internal M&A deals within the company. I organise meeting on behalf of those deals and take minutes and relay actions. I work on spreadsheets need for deals. I also work on certain early careers work. I also help with partner onboarding. I also provide general admin support to anyone in consulting that needs it.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I have been given a lot of responsibility and independence during the placement. All of it has been thoroughly supported and I have never felt out of my depth.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, I have learnt many new skills such as Excel skills, project planning skills etc. I have also developed many including networking, confidence, communication, organisational and many more.

I received so much support from everyone in my team, I have never felt that I was unable to complete a task or unable to ask for help. Everyone has been so helpful and friendly.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is wonderful and they are so flexible. Some service lines are quite cliquey but everyone is really nice.

What advice would you give to others applying to RSM
Be yourself and be genuine. Be open to opportunities and don't decline anything. Make the most of the year and ask as many questions as possible. This way, staff will know you are willing to learn and increase your chances of possible future long term employment.
