Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day to day tasks involve:
Submitting weekly cash flows
Parking PCR (programming commitment rights) and Languaging journals
Forecasting TVD monthly costs
Analysing balance sheets
Processing invoices and POs

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a huge amount of responsibility. I felt that my work contributed heavily towards the team and the tasks I was doing felt important. I was always working on several tasks at a time, allowing me to improve my time management skills. I was being challenged throughout the internship, with the continuous support from my team, and I cannot believe how much I have learnt. It has been the best experience.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I felt that I have received a huge amount of support. I feel that I can ask anyone on my team a question and they are happy to help. If I do not understand an accountancy concept, they are happy to explain it again until I understand. I have 1-1 meetings every week with my manager, to discuss any general concerns.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture is amazing, my team are so lovely. I feel that I have built a great relationship with everyone on my team, I feel that I know them personally and that we can talk about subjects outside of work. It is a light hearted and fun place to work, I am always excited to go into the office.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have loved every minute of my placement year. The work has been interesting and challenging, I have built a great relationship with my team and they are always here to support me. The office is a great place to work, it is very cool with a modern twist. I have also built good relationships with other interns.

What advice would you give to others applying to NBCUniversal
Be yourself during the interview, be confident, chatty and friendly, as the team can get to know the real you. I would make sure to know what specific role you are applying for. Lastly, I would say to take every opportunity that is given to you during the placement.
