Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Assisting lawyers with the execution of agreements for acquiring and distributing films and development and production of original content. Day-to-day includes contract execution on Docusign; legal administration; assisting non-legal teams with queries; contract analysis on an ad-hoc basis; drafting of agreements under the supervision of a lawyer; researching new legal developments relevant to the business.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was able to suggest ideas or areas to research and given full control, ability to carry out independent work. I was given full responsibility over the legal admin and lightly supervised over legal work.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I took part in a mentorship scheme in the company and received a lot of support from my mentor. I was able to build a network of people both outside my team and within my team that allowed me to have introductions to a variety of people and roles that I'm interested in. My team were always happy to answer my questions and take the time to explain concepts with patience.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my year at NBCUniversal. I would love to come back. It's been a great experience learning about the film industry and the wider business. The company has great initiatives to foster an inclusive community. I've had the chance to expand my network and be inspired to pursue a career in this industry.
