Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I work across both the Marketing team and Direct-to-Consumer team within my department. This involves supporting on marketing campaigns for titles, by monitoring the delivery of marketing materials, assisting with administrative tasks, liaising with eternal media agencies, and monitoring our social media channels.
Day-to-day tasks can involve using financial systems such as SAP, SIM and PowerApps to set up vendors and pay them. It can also include speaking with our Dubroom to deliver marketing materials for us to use on our campaigns and managing screening links to external companies to support our PR team.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I have been given a lot of responsibility during my placement year, and it is made clear that I am a valued member of the team, as an intern.
- By supporting marketing managers on big presentations for filmmakers, BASE submissions and Kick-offs.
- Managing the delivery of marketing materials such as key art, trailers and other core assets,
- Being given full responsibility to liase with our marketing agency for our Own Your Goals app, for approval of posts and flexibility to be honest and request changes.
- Being able to have the opportunity to work along my manager to work on the process of a marketing campaign for a film.

I have received a lot of support and guidance during my placement year, from the early careers team as well as my team and managers. Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year, and am disappointed at the thought of going back to University. The culture at NBCUniversal is very fun, and not every day is the same, so i have picked up numerous skills from working under tight deadlines, multi tasking, and also communicating with people all around the business.
With bi-weekly screenings, it is always exciting to see the films we work on and put effort in.
I have had such a good experience working on two teams, and being able to apply my knowledge from university into the real world of work and working in marketing.
