Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Each day was uniquely different - with a wide variety of tasks and daily interactions. Each day I started and worked on a new task, whether that was a research task or drafting a client email. I had various virtual coffees set up throughout the week, so I spoke to somebody different everyday.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
With the tasks that were set, I was given real responsibility which would be given to a trainee at RPC. This included the opportunity to draft client letters, emails, and complete various business/legal research tasks.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I developed a wide variety of skills as a result of the scheme: communication, teamwork, managing deadlines and resilience. Importantly, I further developed my growth mindset in every task that came my way.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
RPC finely balance support/guidance with high levels of responsibility. However, whenever I was faced with a challenge that I needed further assistance with - my trainee buddy, supervisor, or various associates I had spoken with throughout my time at RPC, were always available to help. The people at the firm were very effective at either answering my question or putting me on the right path to find the answer.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
RPC's culture was fantastic. Everyone is happy to work for one another as they all feel part of a wider team. I believe it is a culture in which I can thrive in - and be the best version of myself. I also believe that it is a fantastic place to address personal/professional weaknesses.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I enjoyed the variety of work, worshops, virtual coffees (speaking to all the wonderful people!) and socials.

I would say to really think about how a firm's culture and training support can really impact your development as a trainee solicitor - both your personal and professional strengths/weaknesses.
