Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Each day we were set a task by associates and senior members of staff to submit each day. We also had a number of insights into different areas of law and the opportunity to meet other trainees.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very interesting. We got to hear about different areas of law which normally we wouldn't have had the opportunity to do. We also heard from different emloyees at the firm such as members of HR and business development.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I learned a great deal on the scheme and gained valuable legal experience. I was exposed to different legal technology when drafting documents. I also learned a great deal about different legal terms and documents that I had not learned about yet. Finally, I developed my communication skills during insight sessions by asking questions and working alongside other candidates.

Very friendly and supportive. People were happy to answer questions and arrange meetings with us.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I very much enjoyed it. The team made a conscientious effort to give us good experience and contact with the firm despite the scheme being held virtually. The tasks were difficult if you had not done the LPC or had not been a paralegal but they provided great experience regardless.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Gateley
Go in with an open mind. Ask questions and try to meet people when you can. Don't be over-faced by the tasks and ask lots of questions. Remember to be yourself!
