Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

conduct observational studies on oncology patients. this included questionnaires and taking samples from patients. We would have to screen patients to ensure they were eligible for studies and then consent them if they wanted to take part in the study. we would then collect the data and input it into databases

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

yes i personally got to case hold a study so was responsible for overviewing everything that went on during that study.

there was an amazing atmosphere in my team with everyone always willing to help out. equality and inclusivity play a major part in nhs ethos.

i thoroughly enjoyed my placement. it was a great opportunity to meet some amazing people and to develop skills that i would never learnt had it not been for my placement
