Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Each day we received a task to complete by the end of the day, replicating real tasks that we could expect to receive as a trainee. In amongst our tasks we had overview sessions from the various departments, as well as from diversity and inclusion and responsible business. The day would end with a fun social of some sort, including an escape room and a murder mystery.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was fantastic to hear from multiple members of the business about their varying routes into Gateley and into the legal sector more broadly.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have learnt a tremendous amount from this week, not just about the firm but about the wider fields of law in general. I have also learnt how to structure certain documents and was given the opportunity to use Clarilis.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Gateley has a very friendly, supportive environment. Everyone I spoke to was happy for me to get in touch with any questions I had despite their own busy workloads. Even partners got involved in social activities!

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I had a fantastic week and met so many wonderful people. The socials at the end of the day were a great way to unwind after the hard work during the day.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Gateley
Go for it! Everyone is so friendly and supportive which allows you to ask lots of questions. The company is very people focused which is one of its greatest strengths.
