Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was mainly involved in writing reports based on data gathered in ground investigations to aid design work. I've also completed some design work and planned ground investigations for various projects. I got the opportunity to assist supervising a ground investigation which involved overlooking the ground investigation, responding to technical queries, scheduling labs and planning ground water monitoring installations.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I always had someone I could go to for advice and someone to check my work but the responsibility of everything I did was on me. I was tasked with speaking to contractors and clients.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I've developed my presentation skills through presenting to a client. I also have developed my teaming working and collaboration skills through most of my projects working across teams. My technical skills have also been enhanced this year through my involvement in ground investigations and completing research to aid design work.

As much support as I needed. There was always someone I could speak to and if they didn't have the time/an answer they always pointed me in the direction of someone else.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Company culture is excellent. Regular chats in the break room and monthly socials. There's also many sports teams and clubs across the wider office
