IMS Placement Student Review

My role was centred around improvement projects that added value to existing business processes. I would be responsible for the design, development, testing and delivery of these improvement projects to various stakeholders. There was also day-to-day admin within the role that included maintaining documents and assisting with any IMS queries.

Yes. Mercedes AMG HPP pride themselves in the responsibility that they give to placement students. I was in charge of multiple projects that had company-wide impacts. You will be exposed to a multitude of different stakeholders and will be expected to take full accountability for your work.

Mercedes have a dedicated student support structure. Although I never personally reached out for any support or guidance I always knew that I could. Beyond the dedicated student support, everyone I worked with was more than happy to help with any work-related issues. My immediate team were very supportive in times of high-stress or large workloads.

The company is very fast paced and dynamic, this can lead to a stressful atmosphere at times. However, the general atmosphere is positive, you feel part of a team all working towards one goal, to win.
There is a large student population at Mercedes AMG HPP so there is a good student culture, with various social events hosted, it is really easy to settle in and feel comfortable.

I really enjoyed my placement year at HPP. It provided me with new skills, invaluable knowledge and great connections that I can carry forward throughout my future career.
