Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was given a range of tasks throughout the different teams I worked with. I really enjoyed being given responsibility of running consolidation data checks and analysing gaps in the reporting standards when in the Sustainability Reporting Team. The team were really helpful and welcoming from the beginning and if you are looking for an accounting internship, M&G's programme exposes you to a lot of important areas in accounting.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a fair amount of responsibility during my time at M&G. I was given access to accounting systems to be able to conduct the work that was required. This allowed me to be accountable for my work and also see the modern accounting systems in which M&G uses.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I was given a Buddy and Manager throughout my M&G internship. They were both extremely helpful and happy to answer any questions I had. Although, everyone in the organisation is super friendly and happy to help at anytime.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

the Group Reporting team has culture reps which schedule time-outs during the week so it's nice for the whole time to connect. Also, my colleagues organised socials outside of work which was really nice and helped me fit in the team.
