Assistant Product Manager Review

My job role entails completing daily and weekly tasks, including tracking sales and registration, completing competitor analysis, and collating relevant data from other sources into dashboards to be used by the team. In addition, I also update technical specification and pricing changes on the brochures and the website, apply for insurance and government codes for new product launches, as well as any other ad hoc tasks provided by my line manager and team. I have also been given the opportunity to work with different departments to and collate all the information necessary to create an annual business plan to use as a reference for next year's operations.

Yes. From day one, I have been given tasks where either my manager or someone in my team rely on to complete their jobs. In particular, the dashboard I complete every week goes out to everyone in my team, and tracking daily figures on sales provides an understanding of which cars, trim levels, and colours are the most popular for our brand. I also assist on new car launches and editing the brochures whenever there is a change to ensure that the public have the correct information. As I work in team Dacia, I have the unique opportunity to work with different departments such as marketing, aftersales, and finance, and has allowed me to develop significant understanding of the automotive industry.

Through this wonderful opportunity, I have been able to develop excel skills, specifically lookup functions, logic functions, conational formatting, and pivot tables as I use these in my work on a daily basis. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to present in front of the board of directors, and interacting with my managers and other departments have allowed me to develop communicational skills for a professional workplace. Furthermore, through juggling ad hoc tasks with my regular tasks, in addition to projects have taught me how to work under pressure and prioritising my work and time.

I receive significant support and guidance from both my team, and everybody that works on Renault's products. Everyone in my team is very nice and helpful, and I know that I can go to any of them for help when I need it. My manager is very patient, and is happy to explain anything to me that I do not understand, as well as the context of my work and how the data I collate is used within the team. The other interns are also very supportive too, and we help each other whenever any of us needs any help.

Everyone in the company have been very friendly and supportive, and I have bee able to create incredible connections during the first month of my placement. My manager also encourages me to explore other functions and departments that interests me, and everyone I work with has been very encouraging and supportive of my interest. The company is focused on employee's wellbeing and development, and the support I have received so far in this placement clearly reflects this.

I enjoyed this placement very much! The supportiveness of my colleagues and my manager's encouragement has made my experience at Renault an incredible experience. I am given a lot of responsibility, which is something that was really important to me, and I have been able to develop so much interpersonal skills as well as industry specific skills that I never would have gained through university. Overall, this placement has helped me grow so much professionally as well as individually.
