Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
During the five-day scheme, we experienced an intensive schedule of classroom-based learning, complemented with time spent shadowing lawyers in practice areas, where we got hands-on work experience.
The content included presentations on the practice areas, case studies and seminars to develop our legal knowledge and commercial awareness.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was both useful and insightful to learn about the variety of different paths available to me in a law firm in the different practice areas.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was extremely welcoming in the firm. I felt that every person made an effort to make themselves known to me and made sure I was comfortable both within and outside my practice group. Everyone was warm, helpful and receptive to questions.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I think it is extremely important to understand the internal operations of a corporate law firm and the role that it plays within the market. I would ensure that you also have a well-rounded commercial awareness and knowledge of the specific work of the firm.
