Vacation Scheme Review

I was working in the Residential Development Unit assisting the team with various tasks including drafting legal reports, licences and research tasks. We had many talks explaining the firm's culture and values. I also had the opportunity to work in teams such as Restructuring and Real Estate. There were many events to get involved in this week, such as the Legal Walk, SPARKS event and our Vac Scheme and Trainee social at Electric Shuffle.

It was really insightful to learn about all the different departments within Gateley and the opportunities available. Not only this, but I have gained an in depth understanding of the other events and development programmes Gateley offer in order to develop our professional and personal skills. They value employee wellbeing which is extremely important to me and my future career.

I have learnt a variety of new skills such as the ability to be able to draft legal reports and pull out important information doing searches and enquiries. I have also developed my time management skills due being asked to complete multiple tasks of different people people and having the ability to organise and prioritise the work. In addition, I feel my team work and collaboration skills have been enhanced this week.

The culture at Gateley is really what sets it apart from other firms. The core values of 'Working Together' and 'Trusted to do' along with 'Forward Thinking' are all shown throughout the day to day work. The atmosphere at Gateley is extremely welcoming and you feel valued as a trainee and they offer a lot of support. No question is ever too small.

I thoroughly enjoyed the week at Gateley. It gave me a great insight into the usual day to day working life as a trainee along with exposing us to many other opportunities that Gateley offer.
