Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The Vacation Scheme was one week long. On the first couple of days of the placement I attended presentations, which highlighted Gateley's values and explained what each department does. I worked in the Corporate department for the week, where I was given various pieces of work and attended a meeting with a client. The whole week has been very enjoyable.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Gateley provided a great insight into the business and the potential roles available. I attended various talks at the beginning of the week, where we were told about Gateley's values and culture, as well as the various departments at Gateley.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
As a result of being given various pieces of work with different deadlines, I developed my time-management and organisation skills. By working closely with the department I was placed in, I was also given the opportunity to develop my teamwork and communication skills. My commercial awareness has also developed in this role.

Be yourself and talk to anyone that you come across in the office. Everyone will be more than happy to talk to you and you will learn a lot about the firm from these interactions.
