Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
A wonderful, busy week full of opportunities to talk virtually with lawyers in any area, and get involved in the work of a department.
Everyone in the office is very friendly, making me feel very welcome, and the work gives you a real insight into what life is like day-to-day as a lawyer.
In my department I had discussions with the trainees, NQs and partners, who had time for any of my questions.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
We had a virtual talk where a Gateley lawyer from every possible seat gave a genuine insight into their career. This was a unique experience where I was able to understand at a deeper level which seats I may be drawn to / want to stay away from.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I worked alongside the trainee in my department, trying to help him with his workload. So I learnt lots about the research / due diligence required at the early stages of dealing with a client.
I did this using tools I haven't come across before.
Because there's always work to be done, I developed the skill of working hard for hours at a time.

Everyone was incredibly friendly. Even though they're all busy, everyone in the department always has time for any questions you may have.
