Job Description

Compliance and Regulatory Apprentice Level 4 Apprenticeship

Turn Rules Into Real Action

Our Compliance & Regulatory teams are responsible for helping the business meet its obligations across a complex regulatory landscape, working closely with regulators such as Ofcom and the FCA. Grow your potential as a Compliance & Regulatory Apprentice and join our supportive team in analysing regulations and shaping how we do the right thing, earning a starting salary of £25,000 whilst doing it.

Make things happen

As an apprentice, you’ll start by learning side‑by‑side with our Compliance and Regulatory specialists, building your understanding of key systems, processes and regulatory frameworks. You’ll support the team’s day‑to‑day work while developing the confidence to assess information, identify risks and work to regulatory deadlines. As you progress through your apprenticeship, you’ll gain wider exposure to how regulations shape our business and how we work with regulators across Virgin Media O2. Day-to-day, you could be:

  • Analysing data, reports and regulatory documents to assess compliance and identify potential risks
  • Supporting investigations and helping respond to requests from regulators
  • Creating guidance, reports and training content to support teams across the business

We’re a flexible-first organisation because we believe people do their best work with choice and clarity. To support meaningful collaboration, we ask everyone to connect in person at least eight days a month. That could mean time in the office, volunteering days, or away days - anywhere collaboration happens.

Bring your authentic self

We’re looking for motivated individuals who are comfortable asking questions and raising concerns when something doesn’t look right. While any awareness of compliance or regulation is useful, what matters most is your curiosity, willingness to learn and ability to think critically about information. To apply, you’ll need at least five GCSEs at Level 4–9 (or equivalent).

Beyond this, we’re keen to see qualities such as:

  • An interest in working with data, documents or information to identify risks and patterns
  • A passion for new technologies and innovation, with a desire to learn how these can support and improve the way we work
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders

With inclusivity at the heart of everything we do, we’re 100% committed to having a workforce that represents every part of our society, so we’re keen to hear from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances. We’re an equal opportunities employer, embedding equity and inclusion into everything we do - from the policies we craft to the relationships we build. We believe an inclusive, diverse culture makes for a better business and a brighter world. The only barrier to applying would be if you didn’t have the right to work in the UK.

What’s in it for you

This scheme is the perfect kick‑start to a career in compliance and regulation. Not only will you be supported towards your Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship, but you’ll build strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills while working at the heart of our experienced Compliance and Regulatory teams. Join us on a starting salary of £25,000, rising to £28,000 after 12 months, with a final landing salary of £34,000 upon successful completion.

  • A minimum of 23 days holiday, plus your birthday off!
  • Flexible benefits package including 10% matched pension contribution, holiday buying and selling, and discounts on shopping, travel and more
  • Private Bupa healthcare for you and your family
  • Up to 26 weeks’ paid maternity & adoption leave, plus generous paternity and neonatal leave

…and plenty more to support you inside and outside of work!

What is involved with studying for an apprenticeship?

This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to become skilled in your role, and combines on the job learning and academic study, where you’ll spend approximately 20% of your working hours completing learning with one of our training providers. The programme is fully funded by us, and we’ll support you from day one, ensuring you complete your apprenticeship with a nationally recognised qualification.
