About the role:

As an IT Engineer Apprentice you will act as the first point of contact for IT support, helping colleagues resolve technical issues and ensuring systems run smoothly day to day. You will have the opportunity to develop strong helpdesk, troubleshooting and systems knowledge while building experience within a global technology environment. You will become a key systems superuser, supporting colleagues with core business applications and collaborating with wider technical teams to deliver excellent service and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support queries, providing 1st line support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and business applications, ensuring users receive timely and professional assistance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and access issues, escalating more complex problems to specialist teams where required and collaborating to ensure resolution
  • Become a superuser across key business systems including Windows environments and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams), supporting colleagues to use these tools effectively
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup, account creation, permissions and system access
  • Assist with routine system tasks such as user account management, updates, patching and system health checks (Linux knowledge advantageous)
  • Deploy and configure hardware and software for internal users, ensuring devices are secure, compliant and ready to use
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets and support lifecycle management, while working with wider IT teams to continuously improve processes and user experience

Desirable skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11 and the Microsoft 365 suite
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Well organised with good time management skills, alongside a willingness to learn and a keen interest in building a long-term career in technology.

Salary:

£16,000 per annum

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
