IT Level 3 Apprenticeship - Matthew Algie

Manifest your 2026 career era! Apply for an apprenticeship before 31st January 2026 and you’ll be entered to win a £100 Love2Shop voucher. Start the new year with a real glow-up.

About Matthew Algie:

For over 160 years, we’ve been roasting exceptional coffee and supporting the people who serve it. From our home in Glasgow, we’ve grown into one of the UK and Ireland’s most trusted coffee partners.

As our new IT Apprentice, you’ll be the first point of contact for employees across the business—both in the office and out in the field. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies while helping keep our systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line IT support for hardware and software queries raised through our IT Help Desk
  • Support users on key systems including ERP, Office 365, Azure, Intune, CRM, SharePoint, FSM, VPN, telephone systems, mobile devices and printing
  • Keep users updated and ensure all helpdesk tickets are resolved or escalated efficiently
  • Work with external support partners to resolve more complex technical issues
  • Set up new user workstations and support desk moves, including cabling and hardware configuration
  • Deliver friendly, easy-to-understand training on tools like MS Office, Teams, SharePoint and our phone systems
  • Assist with backup management—monitoring logs, updating records and escalating issues
  • Manage user accounts across systems such as Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, Office 365 and others, including account closure and mailbox archiving
  • You’ll be supported every step of the way by experienced IT professionals who are invested in your development.

Desirable skills:

You don’t need to be an expert—just someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic about starting a career in IT
  • A strong communicator who enjoys helping people
  • Naturally curious with a problem-solving mindset
  • Patient
  • Comfortable working with technology (or excited to learn!)
  • Ready to grow, develop and take on new challenges
  • Able to work on own and in a team environment

Salary:

£16,432 per annum

Working hours:

39.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5pm, Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

Benefits:

  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Pension scheme
  • 28 days holiday plus 4 public holidays per year (option to buy and sell holidays too!)
  • Medicash
  • Perkbox
  • Learning Management System
  • Referral scheme

Future prospects:

90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.
