Network Engineer Level 3 Apprenticeship

POWER THE CONNECTIONS THAT KEEP THE UK MOVING

From the moment you order your favourite meal at a drive-through, to scanning your shopping at a self-checkout, or joining a video call from a train - our Network Engineers make it all possible!

Our Network Engineers are responsible for optimising our fibre network for our customers, through building and commissioning our Business to Business services. Grow your potential as part of our Business Delivery Team, working towards your Level 3 Network Engineer qualification with support from day one, earning a starting salary of £27,000 whilst doing it.

Make things happen

Working in the Business Delivery Division you’ll be joining the experts bringing vital connections to life. You’ll install and commission our latest broadband and data solutions, test everything end-to-end to make sure services run flawlessly, and show customers how to make the most of their new Virgin Media O2 products. Every day is different, and you’ll see the real impact of your work the moment a customer comes online. Day-to-day, you could be:

  • Conducting end-to-end testing to ensure installed services are running perfectly
  • Keeping customers and partners updated on progress
  • Installing the latest Virgin Media O2 Business to Business network technology
  • Providing on-site guidance and training to help customers get the best from our technology

Bring your authentic self

You must have a full manual UK driving licence and feel at ease working at elevated heights. Your wellbeing is our priority, so living in close proximity to your designated areas is preferred to minimise travel. Beyond these requirements, our apprenticeship opportunities are available to tech-savvy individuals who relish problem-solving and embody our brand values.

We’re looking for motivated individuals who have a passion for learning and are keen to develop with us on our journey to keep the UK connected. You don’t need any prior experience - we’ll teach you everything you need to know, from the systems and tools we use, to the hands-on technical skills that make our engineers amazing.

Other qualities we’d like to see include:

  • A positive attitude with lots of energy
  • An analytical approach to your work
  • An ability to work independently and as part of our wider team
  • Basic understanding of the Microsoft Office suite

With inclusivity at the heart of everything we do, we’re 100% committed to having a workforce that represents every part of our society, so we’re keen to hear from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances. We believe an inclusive, diverse culture makes for a better business and a brighter world. The only barrier to applying would be if you didn’t have the right to work in the UK or hold a full UK driving licence.

What’s in it for you

You’ll be gaining invaluable experience and a new set of skills on this apprenticeship. Enjoy a starting salary of £27,000, which will continue to rise as you progress through your apprenticeship. After 12-months in the scheme, your salary will raise to £30,000 with salaries upon successful completion starting from £38,000. Plus, you can enjoy our amazing benefits including:

  • A minimum of 23 days holiday, plus your birthday off!
  • Flexible benefits package including 10% matched pension contribution, holiday buying and selling, and discounts on shopping, travel and more
  • Private Bupa healthcare
  • Up to 26 weeks’ paid maternity & adoption leave, plus generous paternity and neonatal leave

…And plenty more to support you inside and outside of work!

What is involved with studying for an apprenticeship?

This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to become skilled in your role, and combines on the job learning and academic study, where you’ll spend approximately 20% of your working hours completing learning with one of our training providers. The programme is fully funded by us, and we’ll support you from day one, ensuring you complete your apprenticeship with a nationally recognised qualification.
