Job Description

Undergraduate Business Intelligence Placement 2026

Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most innovative teams within Honda Motor Europe (HME). The Digital & Data team partners closely with senior business stakeholders across all HME Divisions, including the Senior Management Teams, to shape and deliver Honda’s Digital & Data Roadmap.

In this role, you will work directly with senior leaders to understand their business challenges, particularly around management information and data processing. You’ll translate these needs into impactful business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, and machine learning tools that enhance operational efficiency and enable faster, more informed decision-making. You will work closely with the Business Intelligence Project Lead, with additional collaboration across the wider Digital & Data Team as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage with senior business stakeholders across HME to understand strategic and operational challenges related to management information reporting and data processing.
  • Assess existing data workflows and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and enhanced data quality.
  • Design and develop BI dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI, tailored to stakeholder needs and aligned with business objectives.
  • Support the rollout of Power BI across all divisions, providing hands-on guidance, training, and troubleshooting to ensure successful adoption.
  • Lead and take ownership of sub-projects that contribute to broader data initiatives, delivering measurable outcomes and supporting digital transformation.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis via public platforms to identify digital trends and innovations, translating insights into actionable intelligence for HME.
  • Support data collation and testing activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency across reporting outputs.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentation materials and assist with meeting documentation including taking minutes and follow-ups.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all new data processes, and ensure existing undocumented workflows are properly captured and standardised.
  • Support the management of shared collaboration spaces (e.g., Outlook mailboxes, SharePoint sites) to ensure effective data organisation and accessibility.
  • Contribute to the development of machine learning tools aimed at improving operational efficiency and enabling faster, data-informed decision-making.

Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable

Required

  • Must be an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or similarly related field.

  • Ability to work efficiently across a wide variety of projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a keen interest in AI, data science, and emerging BI technologies.
  • Experience supporting BI tool rollouts, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven reporting.
  • Familiarity with data collation, testing, and documentation practices.
  • Capable of preparing reports, presentation materials, and assisting with meeting documentation.
  • Comfortable conducting market and competitor research to inform business decisions.

Desirable

  • An enthusiastic person who seizes the initiative and challenges the status quo.
  • Self-driven, can work confidently unsupervised.
  • Possesses an analytical mindset with the ability to map out and improve processes from initial concept to final delivery.
  • A confident communicator across all levels of management, both verbally and in writing.
