Compliance Associate Placement
Job purpose
As a Compliance Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the compliance function to provide support to stakeholders to ensure the business adheres to FCA regulations, internal policies, and best practices.
You will assist in regulatory reporting, managing compliance processes including financial promotions, conflicts of interest and gifts and invitation, monitoring regulatory developments, and supporting the business in maintaining high ethical and regulatory standards.
You will be part of the Compliance Department that is part of the broader Risk Department.
Description
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring the firm complies with FCA rules, including Consumer Duty, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), and other relevant financial regulations.
- Financial Promotions & Marketing Reviews: Ensure all customer communications, advertisements, and financial promotions comply with FCA guidelines.
- Training & Awareness: Where required, support the delivery of compliance training to employees, ensuring they understand their regulatory obligations.
- Reporting & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate compliance records and processes (e.g., gifts and invitation, conflicts of interest, purchasing orders) and assist in the preparation and analysis of regulatory reports for senior management and/or the FCA/PRA. Other ad-hoc activities.
- Customer Outcomes Reporting: Manage the Customer Outcomes Dashboard information gathering and trends analysis and prepare reporting for the CEO and Consumer Duty Board report to assist the Board Risk Committee and Board.
- Horizon Scanning: Support the Compliance Manager with monitoring regulatory updates, industry changes, and FCA communications, providing summaries and recommendations to the Compliance team and business areas. Support the organisation and management of the Regulatory Change and Horizon Scanning Forum.
- Senior Management & Certification Regime (SM&CR): Review and submit SM&CR applications.
Essential
- Strong analytical, data analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable
- Knowledge of FCA regulations, particularly CONC (Consumer Credit Sourcebook), Consumer Duty, financial promotions, and general principles of compliance in financial services.
- Experience working in consumer credit, motor finance, or a related FCA-regulated environment is desirable.
