Role description:

Our Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you a hands-on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us. You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 10–12-week internship or 12 month placement.

Role accountabilities:

Our inclusive and diverse Electrical Engineering team work across a broad spectrum of UK and international projects and industrial sectors within the transmission and distribution and renewable sectors. Arcadis offers the opportunity to work in our growing Energy Networks and Renewables (EN&R) team supporting our clients in delivery of new grid connections and transmission system (33/132/275/400kV) upgrades within the primary and secondary engineering disciplines to help the UK Electricity Industry meet its Net Zero carbon reduction ambitions. EN&R also offer the opportunity to work in specialist renewable areas e.g. BESS, PV, Hydro, Wind, supporting the development of solutions to suit individual Client’s needs. Everything you do will have sustainability at its heart through the designing of energy efficient electrical systems, renewable energy systems and their integration.

Accepted degrees:

MEng/MSc, BEng (Hons), BSc in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering

Qualifications & Experience:

  • You will be working towards a degree in a relevant subject
  • You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking and being a Team Player
  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (where possible we embrace virtual working)
