About the scheme

Our Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship is designed to provide you with comprehensive training and hands-on experience in maintaining heavy goods vehicles. Throughout the three-year program, you will have the privilege of working alongside our team of highly skilled HGV fleet maintenance experts. They will guide you through the intricacies of vehicle maintenance, ensuring that you acquire all the necessary skills to become an integral part of our Logistics Team within the world’s largest food and drink company.

What can you expect?

At our York site, we’ll introduce you to all the equipment and technology involved in heavy goods vehicle maintenance. With a dedicated mentor, you’ll learn everything from routine maintenance to diagnosing faults and running tests. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, so you’ll have the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that support Nestlé’s ambitious sustainability goals.

As an apprentice, you will be exposed to a wide range of activities, including:

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
• Conducting routine inspections
• Performing preventive maintenance on our fleet of heavy goods vehicles
• Using advanced diagnostic equipment and software to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently

What will you get out of it?

You will be studying the L3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship. As part of this comprehensive training, off-site training sessions will be conducted every 6–8 weeks. By the end of the program, you will be fully equipped to take the next step in your logistics career.
