Job Description
Register Your Interest - Energy Graduate Scheme
Current Team Information
The Graduate Energy Consultant and Surveyor roles are part of the Energy team within the Savills Earth Division. With over 90 energy and sustainability consultants across the UK, Savills Earth is becoming the largest zero carbon department within a mainstream real estate practice, known for professionalism and success.
The energy team provides a broad range of services, including feasibility studies, energy audits, due diligence for operational and proposed sites, asset valuations, and transactional support. They also negotiate commercial contracts such as Lease Agreements and Energy Supply Agreements, secure land for energy developments, and offer strategic advice on energy and infrastructure in the property context.
What sets the team apart is their deep understanding of land use and property values. They focus on how low-carbon energy solutions can enhance real estate value—bridging the gap between engineering feasibility and property viability. The team regularly collaborates with architects, planners, developers, funders, and specialist engineers to deliver net-zero solutions that also increase social and economic value.
Graduate roles for this year are available in London, Edinburgh, Cambridge, and Newcastle.
About This Role
As a graduate on the energy pathway, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of service lines. One day you could be conducting energy audits on managed sites; the next, you might be supporting a Director with research for low-carbon infrastructure projects of national importance.
Graduates are exposed to the technical, commercial, and practical aspects of project delivery within both the energy and real estate sectors. Those following the Surveying path will work toward Chartered Surveyor status via the RICS Land & Resources pathway (MRICS).
How You’ll Make an Impact
We’re looking for graduates who can bring a unique combination of technical skills, commercial insight, and personal motivation to the team. You should be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of energy systems from a background in engineering, science, surveying, or other technical disciplines
- Demonstrate comfort with core physics principles and mathematics
- Present data and insights clearly, logically, and engagingly
- Use Microsoft Office confidently, especially Excel
- Automate repetitive processes where possible
- Work in a well-organised and detail-oriented way
- Communicate effectively and collaborate as part of a team
- Show entrepreneurial thinking and strategic problem-solving
- Be a team player with leadership potential and drive
We value individuality and diversity, so be honest and be yourself throughout the application process. We're not looking for a "perfect" candidate—we’re looking for you.
Training
Savills offers one of the most respected graduate training programmes in the property industry. You’ll receive a blend of technical, personal, and business skills training through:
- Conferences, lectures, and specialist courses
- Networking opportunities and social events
- Mock assessments and revision sessions
- Development aligned with the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) qualification and the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC)
You’ll have both an APC supervisor and a counsellor to support you through your two-year programme, with regular check-ins to tailor your development.
Career Development
After gaining MRICS or CEM accreditation, you’ll continue to receive tailored support to ensure your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) remains up to date. Ongoing training helps all staff stay current with industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
You will also be supported in gaining CEM certification through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
