Degree Apprenticeship
I am an Electromechanical Degree Apprentice, and I couldn't ask for a better place to learn. University vs. Apprenticeship has always been a hard decision to make. Choosing to do this apprenticeship has made me realise, it was a no brainer.
You get all the benefits and resources of a large company, along with learning and real world experience to apply it all!
Going into such a massive organization, I was initially intimidated and worried that I would be at a disadvantage without any prior knowledge. I quickly realized I had absolutely nothing to worry about. It is completely fine, the experienced engineers and employees are incredibly patient and always willing to take the time to explain things from the ground up.
My biggest takeaway so far is how remarkably helpful everyone is. Whether I am trying to wrap my head around a complex system or just asking for help with the absolute simplest of tasks, my colleagues/mentors are always ready to pause what they are doing to help. There is never any judgment, and they never make you feel foolish for asking basic questions. It is a brilliant environment for an apprentice to develop their skills and knowledge from scratch. Everyone is really helpful and ensures your workload feels manageable with college tasks.
There can be no better place to be other than Airbus, especially while aiming to have a successful career in aviation.
