HR Business Partner Team Placement

From day one, I felt immediately welcomed and included within the HR Business Partner team. My internship provided me with the chance to contribute to high-impact UK projects while collaborating transnationally with colleagues across France, Germany, and Spain. My team was incredibly supportive; they were dedicated to providing a comprehensive learning experience, involving me in senior leadership meetings and consistently making time to answer my questions.

The HR Business Partner role is dynamic and engaging. It involves partnering directly with the business and senior leadership that has around 250 employees to shape the strategic future of our teams, ranging from recruitment and talent development to absence management and managing employee relations with grievances for example.

Some of my favorite moments during my placement:

• The Hamburg Exchange: I had the opportunity to travel to Hamburg to meet the local team and participate in an event too. I was then able to successfully replicate the event within the UK.
• Transnational Collaboration: Working with French, German, and Spanish colleagues on a weekly basis was a highlight. Having the exposure to different cultures and diverse ways of working was a truly enlightening experience.

This internship has been an invaluable experience for my career and my personal development. I gained consistent exposure to senior leadership, increased my knowledge of Human Resources, and developed a strong understanding of corporate culture. A major step in my placement was the opportunity to confidently present key topics for my business area to senior leadership, an experience that has significantly boosted my professional confidence.
