Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am part of a small team who's main focus is too design new operations on existing legacy facilities on site. This involves working with engineers from a variety of disciplines to come to a common consensus on an issue. The aim to is to maintain safe operations and improve the reliability of facilities.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I have been given numerous tasks which I have had to taken ownership over. I have become the process lead in the area and others disciplines have come to me for information on the subject. I have experienced this on several tasks.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have become more disciplined and organised in regards to prioritising certain projects over others. This has allowed me to meet deadlines whilst providing high quality work. Alongside this I have developed my technical engineering language. I have become more articulate and too the point when writing important documents.

I have a mentor and line manager as well as an industrial placement coordinator. I have separate monthly meetings with all 3 which has allowed me to get appropriate advice and support when required.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The general atmosphere is good with most employees working hybrid. Alongside this the general consensus within the office is that the company is well managed and that there is lots of support there if and when required.
