Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am currently sat in the Lease Consultancy team where we look at rent reviews, re-gears and lease renewals for clients. I draft reports for clients and advise them on things such as rent at reviews and renewals. I have to carry out due diligence and collate comparable evidence to arrive at an estimated rental value for the client.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I have advised clients myself, with assistance, I have measured buildings myself and applied for third party dispute resolutions. I have been given a lot of responsibility but I have never felt overwhelmed, I have as much assistance as I need.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I learn new skills every day, such as serving notices e.g. s.25/s.26, how to write a report for a client on a renewal or rent review. I have learnt so much it would be difficult to summarize everything in one paragraph. However, I have fulfilled my level 1-3 for Landlord and Tenant competency.

I always receive support and guidance, every day. My colleagues are incredible at helping me and making sure I have everything I need for my APC and day to day work.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I absolutely love my job and would not change a thing. I have so much support, the social events are extensive and everyone is included in some form of socializing. My team are fantastic and support me in everything I do.

What advice would you give to others applying to CBRE Group
Just relax, CBRE are beyond kind and welcoming. The assessment centres etc are way less scary than you think and in comparison to competitors. I felt so at ease during my application process and could not believe that the biggest and best company was the nicest so just be yourself and enjoy it.
