Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I run the continuous improvement scheme which consists of a series of digital and physical submission point for ideas which are discussed in a weekly forum. I collect the ideas, assign them to owners and track them throughout the completion process. I also work on a variety of projects, digitalizing and automating manual tasks, assisting with business transitions and the like.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I have been given a good deal of responsibility during this placement, running projects with significant budgets and doing meaningful work around the site. At the same time, I was given a good deal of training and support during this process so that I have not felt overwhelmed by the tasks I've been given.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt how to use a variety of digital tools like Microsoft forms, excel and power automate, which I have used on automation projects. I have also improved my teamwork and communication skills by working on projects with a range of stakeholders.

I have received a good amount of support from my managers and team members, as well as the other employees here at the company. Everyone is very willing to help and to work with me on the projects I am working on.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture and atmosphere are very welcoming and friendly. At break times, people come together to chat and joke and things are more relaxed but even during normal hours people are willing to stop and help when you need it.
