Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The scheme started with a two-day induction. During this time we networked with our fellow vac scheme participants and trainees. We attended multiple presentations which gave us an insight on the type of work the firm does, their diversity initiatives and general life at Clyde & Co. We also attended a social where we went bowling with graduate recruitment.
After the induction, I sat in the insolvency department and assisted the insolvency team with their work. I mainly conducted research and drafting tasks, but I also did a presentation to the members on my team on a current legal development within insolvency case law.
During the scheme, we had time to network with multiple people in the firm from trainees to partners. We were able to meet them for coffee and ask them any questions we had to get a deeper insight in the type of the work they engage in.
The scheme ended with a farewell drinks event with our fellow vac schemers, supervisors and trainee buddies.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was insightful to learn about the type of work I might undertake as a trainee at the firm. The culture is extremely friendly and collaborative, this encouraged my desire to train at Clyde & Co. I enjoyed finding out about the interesting nature of the work, meeting the people at the firm and seeing first hand what Clyde & Co does to remain distinct from its competitors. This cemented my motivation to pursue a training contract at the firm.
