Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
It is a five day programme consisting of two days of virtual events and three days of in-person events. A variety of programmes are planned each day, including sharing sessions by senior employees/MDs in the bank, networking events and desk shadowing sessions. Each day starts at 9am and ends at around 6pm.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The programme offers a great opportunity for me to understand the various divisions in the business of investment banking. I talked to employees from the more well-known "front-office" roles as well as employees working in the infrastructure team. For example, in my last day, I shadowed at the Chief Administration Office and heard about how the CAO facilitates fighting against financial crimes. It is really eye-opening.

My social and networking skills have both improved with the programme. Meeting and networking with new people everyday, I have become better at presenting myself and managing relationships.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
DB has a great culture. Everyone I've met is super friendly. Even the senior employees are approachable and patient towards the interns like me. On the other hand, DB workers are professional and helpful when I ask them for advice.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
Overall, I really enjoyed the Spring Insights Programme at DB. It has been five busy yet fruitful days. I am learning a lot every day and also making new connections.
